前回過去形の作り方を学んでいきました。
不規則変化動詞はすごく大切なので、しっかりとこちらで復習しておきましょう。
１１－２ 一般動詞の過去の文
肯定文
一般動詞の肯定文は、前回勉強した動詞を過去形に変えるだけでOKです。
They played tennis in the park yesterday.
否定文
一般動詞の否定文は代動詞doを使います。doの過去形はdidになるので覚えておきましょう。
They did not (didn’t) play tennis in the park then.
疑問文
否定文と同じように代動詞を使って作っていきます。
Did they play tennis in the park last week?
– Yes, they did. / No, they didn’t.
例題２
次の英文を、（ ）内の語を加えて、現在形の文は過去形の文に。過去形の文は現在形の文に直しなさい。
（１）I eat lunch. (an hour ago)
（２）He doesn’t watch TV. (last night)
（３）Do you walk to school? (yesterday) – Yes, I do.
（４）Bob lived in Tokyo. (now)
（１）現在形→過去形に直します。
I ate lunch an hour ago.
（２）現在形→過去形に直します。
He didn’t watch TV last night.
（３）現在形→過去形に直します。
Did you walk to school yesterday? – Yes, I did.
（４）過去形→現在形に直します。
Bob lives in Tokyo now.

１１－３ be動詞の過去の文
be動詞の過去形はwas,wereの二つだけです。
am,is→was
are→were
になるだけで、他は変わりません。be動詞は主語によって変わるので、忘れてしまった方はこちらの記事で復習しておきましょう。
肯定文
He was a student four year ago.
否定文
Ken and I weren’t in the same class last year.
疑問文
Were you making a cake then ? – Yes, I was. / No, I wasn’t.
例題３ 次の（ ）に適するbe動詞を書きなさい。
（１）He ( ) in Canada ten years ago.
（２）They ( ) not busy yesterday afternoon.
（３）( ) you out for lunch at that time ? – Yes, I ( ) eating lunch then.
（４）I ( ) very busy now.
（５）It ( ) fine today. Let’s play tennis.
（１）Heが主語なので、be動詞はis→wasを入れればOKです。
He (was) in Canada ten years ago.
（２）Theyが主語なので、be動詞はare→wereを入れればOKです。
They (were) not busy yesterday afternoon.
（３）Youが主語なので、be動詞はare→wereを入れればOKです。答えの文はIが主語なので、be動詞はam→wasを入れればOKです。
(Were) you out for lunch at that time? – Yes, I (was) eating lunch then.
（４）現在の文なので注意です！
I (am) very busy now.
（５）これも現在の文なので注意です！
It (is) fine today. Let’s play tennis.
